FUNDASOL 126 fulfills its purpose through projects that empower women and the people around them.

The foundation encourages the creation of collaborative spaces that are essential for children’s safety, strengthening family integration through economic progress and unity.

It promotes relationships built on equity, eliminating violence and increasing well-being while helping to build a prosperous and sustainable Colombia. Everything we do is grounded in respect, faith, love, and hope.

What problem are we addressing?

Women have lived in conditions of vulnerability and oppression across most of Colombia; at FUNDASOL 126, we strive to empower them and to narrow the gender gap.

‘El Milagro Eres Tú’ is a project born out of the need to empower Colombian women and improve their quality of life, recognising that they are a cornerstone of the family. In this way, we build safer, healthier and more loving environments for everyone.

Having a positive impact on women who are victims of violence, abuse and mistreatment—and who have endured experiences that have affected them physically, mentally and psychologically—is also of vital importance for children. Growing up in homes where there is so much pain, they often face issues such as suicide, drug addiction and other psychosocial risks. We know that, if we succeed in healing and empowering women, they will become active agents in improving their own quality of life, that of their families and that of their community.

TYPES OF VIOLENCE

Recognizing when someone is experiencing violence is essential, as is understanding how to restore and protect their rights.

TYPES OF VIOLENCE

Psychological Violence: A form of violence involving behaviors and attitudes that cause mental and psychological harm.

Emotional Violence: Occurs when someone attempts to diminish your self-esteem through humiliation, contempt, or devaluation.

Economic Violence: Occurs when a person controls another individual’s financial resources, manipulates spending decisions, or deprives them of necessary resources.

Sexual Violence:  Any form of sexual contact or activity without consent.

Digital Violence: Any form of harassment or abuse carried out through electronic devices or digital platforms.

Human Trafficking: This type of violence disproportionately affects women and girls, who are exploited for sexual purposes, organ trafficking, forced labor, or domestic servitude.

How do we contribute to the solution?

By the end of the programme, our beneficiaries are able to manage their emotions, self-esteem and sense of self-worth as women within society; they are also empowered by gaining a thorough understanding of their rights.

Following a six-month interdisciplinary programme comprising a wide range of comprehensive training in soft skills and employability-focused courses, they emerge equipped with the tools to focus on optimising their professional and personal goals, working with us to create a life plan tailored to their skills and aspirations.

They will also significantly improve their relationships with themselves, their families and society, thereby making a real contribution to a better country.

Result

Once they have completed the programme, our women will:

Be able to manage their emotions, their self-esteem and their sense of self-worth as women within society.

Be empowered women who are aware of their rights. They will have the tools to focus on and optimise their career prospects.

They will create a life plan based on their skills and aspirations. They will significantly improve their relationship with themselves and with their wider environment – family and society.

They will make a real contribution to a better country.

PROGRAMMES

Through these programmes, we fulfil our core mission, reflecting our commitment to social service, and fully embodying the slogan of our president, Marisol Pabon Rodríguez, which is not merely part of our culture, but is in our very DNA.

“Yes, we can”
YOU ARE THE MIRACLE

‘A woman is the very heart of life; when she heals, empowers herself, loves and values herself, she raises children with similar qualities and fosters respect within her relationship. In turn, they all form functional, strong families that help build a more collaborative, fair and productive community.’

Support a woman and you will create a ripple effect of well-being throughout society!

The Miracle Is You’ is our flagship programme, through which we offer interdisciplinary support to Colombian women and their families, helping them to realise that they themselves are the miracle. These courageous women are supported by mentors who inspire them to grow and improve their living conditions.

SPIRITUAL SUPPORT

It focuses on providing regular support, either in person or online, offering spiritual (though not religious) and emotional support to vulnerable communities (prisons, neighbourhoods, etc.), through recreational activities, events and/or training sessions, with the aim of bringing a smile to people’s faces and, most importantly, identifying the needs of each community, and identifying and highlighting cases of violence or inequality among individuals

they are experiencing violence or inequality, so that we can bring them into the foundation’s care and support them through our programmes.

A HUG FROM AFAR

This is more than just a programme; it’s a breath of fresh air.

It was launched during the pandemic, when we were locked down and most people were experiencing emotional distress. Abrazo en la Distancia offers support, counselling, EMOTIONAL SUPPORT and psychological first aid, remotely – that is, virtually – provided by our volunteer psychologists, NLP practitioners and coaches, who have joined FUNDASOL 126 to help tackle the major challenges Colombia faces in terms of MENTAL HEALTH.

During the pandemic, we had over 200 volunteers, some of whom were supporting more than one person. Currently, we provide this emotional support to our women and their families, as well as to people facing inequality who also need it.

MAO MAKING DREAMS COME TRUE

Marlon was one of our first beneficiaries at FUNDASOL 126; he reminded us of the importance of dreams.

With a very difficult life story and a cancer diagnosis, he was an inspiration to us. We joined forces with our supportive friends and managed to fulfil his wish to return to his homeland (a very remote part of Colombia), and a few days later he passed away.

In his honour, from that moment on we have been working to make the heartfelt wishes of our women and their families—who face violence and inequality—a reality, reaffirming that even in the face of adversity, “it is possible to dream”.

Through these programmes, we fulfil our important social mission, reflecting our love for social service, inspiring others and fully embodying the slogan of our president, Marisol Pabon Rodríguez, which, more than just our culture, is our very DNA.
